Orly Beauty Review and Giveaway! -- CLOSED
Hi guys! So my next review and giveaway is for Orly Beauty nail lacquers. I was sent the Metal Chic and Bloom collections.
The colors were:
Bloom:
Wild Wisteria
Pure Petunia
Wandering Vine
Ginger Lilly
Blushing Bud
Thorned Rose
Metal Chic:
Solid Gold
Iron Butterfly
Glam Rock
I loved these nail lacquers! They had a variety of colors but my favorite was the Wild Wisteria, Wandering Vine, and basically the entire Metal Chic collection. I love dark colors so that’s why the first two were my favorite, but all three of the Metal Chic collection was so cool and pretty too I couldn’t pick a favorite out of the three of them.
What was also great about these was that they weren’t polish they were lacquers and lacquers dry harder and more chip resistant. This is also great for me because somehow like two or three days after I put on nail polish it starts chipping off and this one didn’t. It’s also not as thin either like maximum you needed two coats and that’s only if you messed up the first coat (which I tend to do because I am terrible at doing my nails), but the colors were so rich and dark you hardly needed to.
I used the Wild Wisteria first because I really liked the color, it’s a dark purple – almost black and it’s great for this winter season because you tend to wear darker colors in the winter. It stayed on really well and didn’t mush when I went to bed. I tend to put on nail polish early in the day then somehow the next day when I wake up my nails got mushed because of me sleeping on them. I hate that! These thankfully didn’t do that.
I also opened all the bottles and did a little wipe of each of them on a piece of paper to see how they all really looked. All of the colors from the Bloom collection seemed to have kept their bottle colors but the ones from the Metal Chic looked even prettier than their bottle colors. But their bottles are clear, they’re kind of foggy and don’t really show off the metallic-ness of the actual colors. I took a picture of this little swatch thing I did but my point and shoot camera really didn’t give them, specifically the Metal Chic colors, any justice, the picture didn’t really show their super shininess, so instead I found some better swatches from Chicprofile.com:
Another thing I really enjoyed the variety of colors in each collection, specifically the Bloom collection because it’s larger, because it seemed like the really tried to get a bunch of colors that anyone will at least like one or two of the colors. I’m not a pinky/red person so I stuck with the darker colors, while other people might enjoy the Blushing Bud or Thorned Rose more than the colors I liked.
Another cool thing about these lacquers is actually about the bottle. The cap is actually an award-winning gripper cap, so it’s very easy to hold and do your nails because you don’t have to keep a super tight grasp on it like most other polishes and lacquer caps.
