ToSave.com Review!

2 comments:

Hey everyone, we all love online shopping right? To be honest, I feel like the older I get the more I get into it. It is way easier when you have a busy lifestyle to just go to the computer really quickly, browse and order versus going to the store or the mall. That is why I was very excited to browse To Save. To Save is a shopping site that has almost anything -- from car phone chargers to wedding dresses -- seriously this place has almost everything.

I didn't go too, too crazy with my selection but wow did I get lost in browsing for a bit. I decided just on these three items:

A crop top that says "psycho," a shirt with a great back cutout, and a little tripod.

All of these are very important additions to my life for me: The psycho shirt just reminds me of one of my favorite movies "American Psycho," also I have been pretty proud of my body lately and have been rocking some crop tops; the back one is, well I love anything with cool backs, so I had to have it; and the mini tripod, probably the one that makes the most sense, I do stand up and want to try recording more sets and now I can with this little baby tripod.

All three of these items came to a total of less than $10 which is crazy. The psycho shirt was $3.88, the long sleeve shirt was $4.79, and the tripod was $1.77. Wowie zowie.

One thing is the fabric of the shirts are a little weird. I thought the back shirt was going to be more sweater-like but instead it just looked like a really ill-fitting shirt, this one was the most disappointing. The sleeves were a little, off it looked like it was too boxy and unflattering for me in the front.

But this is the type of website where you're not 100% disappointed because it was crazy cheap. And the Psycho shirt looks great AND the tripod is perfect for on the go quick recordings. The tripod you can only use sideways though, I tried to tilt it so my phone is normal but it fell. The phone just squeezes in there and it's pretty easy.

Overall, I think the website is pretty awesome. I definitely recommend checking out the website. If you wanna shop, need to get someone a little something, or have something in mind they may have it.

Scala Sun Hat Review!

1 comment:

Hey everyone! Summer is here and it's important to stay protected! Fortunately, Dorfman Pacific and Scala are here to help. They've created the Scala Collezione which has a variety of great hats to keep your head safe from those harsh sun rays.

They sent me the sun hat in beige and I was a little disappointed because well...

This is what it looked like. It was all folded and floppy, there wasn't really a brim to the hat like the pictures even if you tried to fold the hat yourself. I understand shipping it caused it to get this way but it looks really nothing like the pictures so I was a bit disappointed.

They do come in 25 colors and it has an inner drawstring so you can tighten to fit your head. Though while it may not look super snazzy it does have an added benefit for it's UPF 50+ rating to protect your head from the sun. It is a huge beauty and anti-aging bonus. It's also made with the comfort of cotton.

So overall this is a great hat for the beach or a day you know you're going to be in that strong sun for a few hours. You'll be safe and it's big enough to shield even some of your face from the sun as well.

Buy It! Head on over to their website to purchase it on. There's free shipping and they retail under $35!

Bombas Socks Review!

No comments:

So I am a big fan of working out, I try to go to the gym at least three days a week minimum but it's important to wear comfortable attire when working out. You don't want to wear some pants that you have to keep pulling up and thus slowing down your workout or something. One very important article of clothing though is socks. I can't tell you how many times I put on ankle socks just because I'm assuming they're gonna be fine running and they fall into my sneaker or they're too thin and make the sneakers give me blisters. Thankfully there is Bombas. Bombas socks are super comfortable and perfect for working out or just lounging.

Bombas Socks come in two styles regular length and ankle length. I chose the ankle one because I wear them more often. They're built for athletic performance and extreme leisure.

I really like that these ankle socks have a blister tab, (The blue back up top.) because like I said earlier, sometimes I would wear ankle socks running and they'd slip down and give me blisters. Even the calf socks have a stay-up technology that won't fall.

They also have a performance footbed that's not too thick or thin, just the right amount of comfort and the honeycomb support system. The honeycomb is a naturally strong structure that they have borrowed from bees. You get extra support and tightness in the arch where you need it most.

Most importantly though Bombas cares. Did you know that socks are the #1 most requested clothing item at shelters? So with every pair purchased there is one paid donated. Their donation socks look and feel just like the pair of Bombas you're wearing only they have antimicrobial treatment, reinforced seams, and darker, neutral colors to prevent visible wear.

Overall, I really enjoyed my Bombas socks. I wore them to the gym today. I wasn't doing cardio so I didn't get the full affect of their stay-up technology but I believe them. They're very comfortable without being too warm or thick. Definitely check them out you won't be disappointed!

Buy It! Head on over to Bombas's website and browse all the colors and varieties!

Cappelli Straworld Pack A Hat Review!

No comments:

Summer is almost here! Well, kind of, at least in Southern California it is. Gotta protect yourself from that sun. Check out their new Pack a Hat. Pack a Hat is exactly what it sounds like it is: a hat packed into a bag so it's easy travel with.

It comes in a nice bag like this, almost like a cosmetic bag and about the size of one. Inside is a hat!

Gotta say though, the hat is a bit wrinkly from being stuck in the bag for a while. So if you're not big into fashion and more into protection than go for this. It looks a little silly on but hey, I would rather not have a burnt scalp.

The sun hat has UPF 50+ and the bag is a little wristlet so you can easily carry it around.

Fun fact even though we're at the end of April remember that May is melanoma awareness month so don't forget sun protection importance.

Each Pack A Bag is only $25 which is great for yourself or for a gift for your friends!

Overall, I think it's a great idea I just wish the hat came out less wrinkly. I'm glad it does help protect you against the sun though. Definitely check them out!

Wantable Accessories Box Review!

3 comments:

Now for a completely different subscription box, if you are a girly girl, a fashionista, or just want to get more into fashion and beauty, you have to check out Wantable. Wantable is a great monthly box where you can choose to receive makeup, accessories, or intimates. I choose accessories mainly because I don't wear much jewelry but wanted to branch out and try more and kind of expand my style with the latest trends in jewelry. They work with awesome brands like Coobie, NCLA, Betsey Johnson, FACE Stockholm (sold at JCrew!), Color Club, Besame and more.

You basically take a test to show what your style is, what are your likes and dislikes and bam they send you some goodies based on your answers! I received the following items:

Cassandra Necklace

Joella Ring

Ivetta Necklace

First off, gotta say they hit the nail on the hammer with the ring. It was definitely my favorite piece. I actually had a leaf ring in silver that was my favorite ring and it broke recently. I was super bummed about it but hey now I have a replacement! It's just a single leaf-shaped ring in gold that wraps around your finger and looks awesome. It fits perfectly, too.

The other two were super unique necklaces that were definitely a bit different than what I usually wear but hey that is why I wanted to try this out. I definitely wouldn't have picked these pieces up at the store but trying them on with different clothes, they actually looks really nice. As you can see from the following pictures:

The first is a type of statement necklace that's pretty long and has a bunch of different colored pieces. I feel like it's great to wear with a solid color. I wore it with a dark blue top, as you can tell, but I feel like it'd be great with a denim button down top too or one of those white eyelet tops, but just a solid color because you don't want a busy shirt with a busy piece, it just doesn't work. Also being that it's a long necklace I recommend a longer top. I have a lot of plain shirts where I can rock this so I'm pretty excited.

The other necklace is a bit more edgier. Another type of statement piece but short almost like a choker. I thought it was cool because it makes a statement but is still a lot simpler than the other one, it's only black and gold so it can get away with being in a lot of outfits. But since it's edgier I think it works more with like black and grays, and just more rocker type items. I just put a baggy black and gray top with some black pants and it worked really well with it.

Overall, I really liked these pieces, they were really cool and unique to what I'm used to wearing but still nothing crazy enough where I am scared to try them out. They were easy pieces to incorporate into my wardrobe and looked really awesome. Definitely check out Wantable for intimates, makeup, or accessories, you won't be disappointed!

Buy It! Head on over to Wantable's website and subscribe! It is $36/month or customers can purchase a single box for $40. Shipping is always free and you can cancel, return, or skip a month at any time!

FRAAS Scarf Review!

No comments:

I can’t believe it’s already September and fall is practically here. You know what that means, cooler weather and Halloween. One of those is a thing I love, the other…not so much. Take a guess which one.

Just kidding, cool weather isn’t too bad. Fall in general does have some other pretty cool things too aside from Halloween, like pumpkin flavored everything and the fashion. I love sweater weather and fall accessories including scarves, which is why I was pretty excited when FRAAS contacted me to review one of their newest scarves.

Their newest scarf line is 060607, it is an ideal style to celebrate the fall season. It reverses so that two distinctive looks are possible and comes in four flattering shades: petrol which is a teal/green color, dark red, purple, and black. It is a super soft mix of viscose and acrylic. It is also 14 x 72 inches big.

I received their scarf in purple and I really love it. I know it looks more blue than purple but it's a kind of indigo, purple color and really lovely. As you can see, the main theme of the scarf is polka dots. One side is solid with multi-colored (but still in shades of purple) polka dots and on the opposite side it’s multi-colored with solid polka dots. I’m not a huge fan of polka dots but the multi-colored side is really eye-catching. The colors are bright and so pretty but still goes well with practically anything. Also, the fabric is really soft and not itchy like some scarves can be.

Overall, I really did like this scarf, it is very lovely. I can definitely wear it in the winter, too. Also, if you’re looking for a simple gift for someone this would be perfect. Definitely check them out!

Buy It! These scarves retail for $40 and you can purchase them via phone by calling 212-575-0191 or check out amazon.com!

Wizards of the West Review!

No comments:

Hey everyone! My next review is for Wizards of the West. Wizards of the West is a great clothing company that has a variety of apparel and accessories for women.

I was sent their Chiffon Blouse.

I really like this blouse, it's lightweight and sheer, but you can put a nude bra underneath and it still would look acceptable out, not too sleezy or anything. I like the overlap across the breast area so it look like a white border.

It was little shorter than I expected and tight though, I got a medium I should have gotten a large. The arms were really tight and I couldn't button the cuffs. The stomach area was loose but the arms are just super tight. I guess my arms are a little toned but nothing crazy. So it's a cute shirt, but I may wear it over a tank or something just because the arms are little uncomfortable.

It is nice and airy though, perfect for the summer coming up, plus the because it is black and white you can wear it with practically anything. Dress it up with some nice black pants or a mini skirt and heels or wear it with some shorts or jeans.

They also sent me this bracelet as a cool added bonus. I really like it and I like that it matches the chiffon shirt. Plus it's easy to slip on and off and the black and white pattern matches pretty much everything. I am not big into bracelets but I've been slowly trying to get myself into them and I think this one is perfect to start wearing with all outfits.

Overall, I really enjoyed Wizards of the West. They have such a great assortment of blouses, skirts, and more. I also really liked the shirt and bracelet. They also have a great program where you can earn rewards from purchases and get bonus points from instagramming your outfit or sharing it on facebook, twitter, and other social media outlets. Definitely check them out.

Planet Shoes Acorn Sandals Review!

2 comments:

Hey everyone! My next review is for Planet Shoes. Planet Shoes is a great shoe company that sells a variety of lines and styles of shoes. From slippers to sandals, they have it!

I received their Acorn C2G Lite Ankle Sandal in Dark Chocolate to review.

First of ll I really appreciated the customer service, I'm actually a size 7.5 but since they didn't have half sizes so she recommended and 8 and that fit perfectly. So thanks for being so helpful!

Some stats on the shoes:
- Hand burnished nubuck leather uppers
- Leather lined footbed and uppers
- Medial Gore and adjustable straps for fit and comfort
-Unique construction for ultimate lightweight flexibility
-Each pair weighs under 10 ounces
Contoured EVA footbed with molded heel cup and arch support
Skid resistant and cork frame outsole

I actually gave these babies the ULTIMATE test and that was to wear them an entire day at Six Flags Magic Mountain. Arguably not the wisest decision one could make wearing them for the first time, but I tried them on at home and they were so comfortable so they had to be comfortable the entire day right?

Me wearing the sandals as my friend Ayana and I met Batman. I was also standing next to Wonder Woman but I cut her out because she's not as important as my main man.

The sandals did actually make the cut! The soles are just insanely comfortable and the straps are made from a nice, soft leather so they didn't rub at all. By hour 4 of an 8 hour day at Six Flags the bottom of my feet started to rub a little by the arch. Not an insane amount of pain and they didn't blister, just some discomfort. This could be because it was hot out and my feet were probably sweating on the bottom or you know just all that walking.

My main worry though was the thong part in between the big toe and 2nd toe, I usually have a difficult time wearing most flip flops because I blister there easily and that didn't bother me at all. So while there were some minor issues with these shoes I still really, really like them and was very impressed with them. They are perfect everyday shoes and lets be honest, the only shoes you should wear at theme parks are sneakers so that was my bad but honestly it wasn't so bad.

Overall, I was really impressed with these sandals, I received quite a few compliments from my friends wearing them and they are so comfortable. The soles I literally would just rock back and forth on because they are so cushiony and comfortable. Definitely the most comfortable sandals I have probably ever worn. Definitely check them out you won't be disappointed!

Buy It! Head on over to Planet Shoes' website and browse their selection. Check out their Acorn line if you want a pair of sandals like mine.

Style Lately Review!

No comments:

Hey everyone! My next review is for Style Lately. Style Lately is a great website that has a variety of apparel and accessories that really are lovely but also super affordable!

I received their Evo Chain Bracelet.

I really like this bracelet, I actually chose this because I'm not a huge bracelet wear-er I just can't find one that I like or one that goes with everyday outfits but this one is perfect.

There's four chains, two are the same small almost square little chains that are dark gunmetal grey, there's a bigger gold chain, and then a kind of swirly gunmetal one. It has a super easy matte gold lobster clasp that you can clasp on yourself. That's what I'm always worried about with bracelets because I always have trouble clasping them or putting them on/taking them off by myself but this one is super easy.

Also it is pretty reasonably priced at only $13. That's what is great about Style Lately, they have the cutest jewelry pieces and awesome apparel but it's not outrageously overpriced. It's like H&M prices but made with better quality.

Every day they have special events too where select clothes and accessories go on sale with a certain percentage off. For instance right now they have some awesome acid wash shorts that are 31% off originally $26 now they're only $18!

Overall, I was really impressed with the bracelet and Style Lately, the quality is great and I've already gotten a few compliments with it. Definitely check them out, you won't be disappointed!

Playful Threads Review and Giveaway!

6 comments:

Hey everyone! My next review and giveaway is for Playful Threads. Playful Threads is a great website that has a bunch of sexy stuff. Literally. From sexy lingerie to clubwear, you want to feel a little bit sexy? They have the stuff for you!

I received the Rosalinda - Halter Neck Top with Sequin Cup Detail, I took this half face picture because I wasn't wearing any makeup, but hey it's not my face that counts it's the shirt.

Being still a little bit of a prude, I couldn't go for any of the fancy lingerie or corsets or anything so I chose this tank top. It's a little flashy without screaming too, much. This would be casual in Vegas. Though I feel like it really points out how small my boobies are with that giant space in between them...but maybe that's just me. The girl on the website put a bunch of fancy necklaces in that in-between so maybe if I do that, that bright white space won't be as noticeable?

I do really like the shirt though. It is one of those in the middle shirts, if that makes sense. It has a nice little way the bottom half falls so it's not super tight but not loose enough where it looks like you're pregnant or where it's too loose you can't wear it with loose dresses or shirts.

It also has a halter in the back which I thought was really nice. I'm weird where I am obviously a little self conscious about showing off my front but I love exposed back tops, especially halter tops. It shows some skin where it's sexy but still leaves the important stuff covered so guys can use their imagination if you know what I mean.

The quality of this shirt is really great too, sometimes clubwear can be made so cheaply, this fabric is nice and the sequins are sewed on really well. I was super impressed.

Overall, I really loved my shirt from Playful Threads and I definitely plan on wearing it the next time I go out, preferably when I'm in Vegas.

Mikarose Review and Giveaway!

17 comments:

Hey everyone! My next review is for Mikarose. Mikarose is a great clothing website with a variety of lovely but, but still modest, women's apparel.

BR> I was sent their Belted Pencil Skirt in black.

As Mikarose's website says: "Mikarose is a clothing company that specializes in modest, elegant and fashionable dresses. Our company's idea evolved when the owners realized how difficult it was to find modest dresses in today's market. Our goal is to provide an extensive line of modest dresses, without having to sacrifice style."

This is a really, really lovely skirt and not what I was expecting at all. I'm used to thick clothed pencil skirts but this skirt is extremely lightweight. It's 100% polyester and machine washable which is great because this one weird pencil skirt I have I have to dry clean it.

It is really comfortable and lightweight but not too light or too tight. I love pieces like this too because you can kind of wear it to fit your needs you know? For instance, this is the perfect work skirt or you can even dress it up for a night out. Being that it's lightweight you can wear it in the winter with a sweater and tights or with a light blouse in the summer. I was really impressed with it.

Overall, I really loved this skirt and Mikarose's website. They have such a variety to choose from, from blouses to dresses, check them out, you won't be disappointed!

Alex Blake Tights Review!

1 comment:

Hey everyone! My next review is for Alex Blake. Alex Blake is an awesome website that has a various selection of fabulous tights from all price ranges. I was given the chance to review a wide assortment of their great opaque tights which are great for this fall season! Alex Blake was insanely kind and sent me six different tights to review!

The tights I received are:

Jonathan Aston 40 Denier Opaques in Aubergine - Sold for $9.75, they come in loads of awesome colors. But this Augbergine is like a nice grayish purple, it's a super awesome color that goes with practically everything. A great alternative to black. Also the most transparent of the tights and least thick.

Pamela Mann 80 Denier Opaque in Chocolate - Sold for $9.89, also comes in loads of awesome colors. They also have 50 denier and 120 denier sold in same shades. There really aren't many nice brown tights, or I haven't seen many, but this one is great. Brown is such an underrated color especially with tights and I plan on rocking these out.

Levante Suede Matte 50 Tights in Blumarine - Sold for $11.25. Super dark color, almost black, to be honest I don't think I noticed it was blumarine until I read the label. Nice, smooth, and matte. Nice dark color, also a great alternative to black but if you still want to stick to just dark colors.

Falke Seidenglatt 70 Tights in Black - Sold for $38, they're about to get more awesome color on their site, too. These were the first pair I tried on and they're so smooth and soft. I think they may be my favorite ones. They're just so, so comfortable and look great on. They're shiny opaques too which I think are awesome.

Pretty Polly 60D Lustre Opaques in Redcurrant - Sold for $13. This picture really does not do these tights justice. They look super bright but they're a nice dark cranberry color. They actually look really awesome with that dress but the flash kind of ruins the picture. I love the color and I can totally see myself rocking them with a black mini skirt.

Aristoc Microfibre 80D Tights in Black - Sold for $29. New to the Alex Blake site, they have 3D technology which makes them soft and stretch in all directions. They're similar to the Falke ones but not shiny, but matte instead and a great classic black.

Pretty Polly 120 Modal Tights in Black - Sold for $17, these are also new on the site. These are really thick but super comfortable, perfect for those crisp cool fall nights. These are also up there in my favorites just because they're so comfortable. Plus you don't see thick tights that often.

As you can see above, I took various pictures of the tights in two different dresses but the blacks look very similar on picture but feel and look very different in person. Plus they feel different too. Some are thicker while others are smooth. Some are matte while others are shiny. I actually think the various thicknesses are great to have because fall is always a tricky season with weather. Hot one day, cold the next, eventually getting colder for winter.

I found all of the tights to be very well made, some were a little tight and I was worried I'd rip them but they stretched perfectly. It was great to see the price ranges and how the texture seemed to change with the price. The more transparent ones are cheaper but the thicker and smoother the pricier, which is totally understandable. I felt myself more comfy in the thicker ones, especially the thicket Pretty Polly ones, they were like amazing sweatpants. I could wear them all day then just hang out in them all night.

Overall, Alex Blake is a great website with a great selection of tights for various prices and styles. Definitely check them out, especially their wide selection of opaques. Fall is tight season and you definitely have to check out this awesome tight site!

Buy It! Head on over to Alex Blake's website and browse their awesome selection! You won't be disappointed!
