Hi guys! So my next review and giveaway is for Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil. I received this giant 32 oz. jar of it in the mail.
I’m not going to lie. When I first received this product in the mail I thought to myself “what in the world am I going to do with this huge jar of coconut oil?” But don’t worry! Tropical Tradition’s website helps you out a lot with this. They have a huge page dedicated to a bunch of recipes of food, smoothies, snacks, even a latte you can make with the help of this handy jar.
I’m a big smoothie person, I make them a lot, so I decided to make my own smoothie. I didn’t really follow any of the smoothie recipes to be honest but my idea to make a smoothie stemmed from the recipe page. I just took the rest of the fruit salad we had left over from Easter (mainly peaches, cantaloupes, and strawberries), a half of a frozen banana, half a cup of yogurt, half a cup of milk, a tiny bit of apple cider vinegar, and 2 tablespoons of the coconut oil. What you have to do with the oil though is melt it because it’s not a liquid or a solid, it’s kind of mushy kind of like butter or sour cream. But it doesn’t take long to melt, like 7 seconds in the microwaveand you’re good.
Actually out of all of the fruit I put in this smoothie I tasted coconut the most, coconut and cantaloupe. I was surprised by how little you needed to create such a strong taste. It was delicious.
So then I made some brownies with this oil, replacing the butter with oil and mmm, those tasted delicious too!
There are so many great things you can do with this coconut oil and it’s a great healthier alternative to butter and vegetable oil.
