Street Boners Book Review and Giveaway! -- CLOSED

Hey guys so my next book review is for Street Boners by Gavin McInnes. On the Hatchett Book Group website their summary of this book states: "Fifteen years after founding Vice, Gavin McInnes has poured his creative juices into a new endeavor: StreetCarnage.com. This book was pretty funny. They're all snapshots of people either dressed normal or dressed ridiculous like a man with a top hat and long velvet overcoat, but all pictures of hipsters. Some of them are gross but for the most part none of them are too super crazy and gross. But there are a lot of jokes that can be offensive to prudes and just regular people, a few jokes I read and thought "wow, really? a bit much."

But you can tell a lot of work was put into this book. There are soooo many pictures. Some take up one full page, or two full pages, but most pages have like 6 pictures on it. It's not a big read of a book, mostly a kind of coffee table book for college folk or 20 somethings just because it's mainly just one-liner jokes for each picture. I mean, you can read it but probably not all at once. It's just one of those things you read and laugh at for a few pages and put it down.

One thing I didn't really understand was the kitten faces, they had a rating system if you will for pictures from 1-10 kitten faces and I thought maybe like a 10 would be a greatly dressed hipster and a 0 or 1 would be a very poorly dressed hipster but they would make fun of them even with a 10 and sometimes the were still pretty bad jokes so I really wasn't sure how they used this rating system.

If you're one of those people that get a good laugh out of hipsters you will enjoy this book otherwise you might not get some of the jokes. Overall it was a pretty amusing book.
