Chex Mix Popped Review!

No comments:

You guys know I am a huge snacker so when Klout gave me the awesome perk to try Chex Mix's new Popped line I hopped on the chance. We all love Chex Mix, they can be quite addicting and awesome, especially to have out for parties like this upcoming 4th of July!

I received the following flavors:
White Cheddar
Sweet and Salty

This Popped line incorporates the best of Chex Mix like the pretzels and the square weave things but also adds popcorn too. For the white cheddar they have the cheese cracker triangles and white cheddar popcorn and for the sweet and salty they have regular popcorn and caramel corn.

Sweet and Salty

White Cheddar

These Chex Mix Popped Sweet and Salty contain 60% less fat than regular potato chips and the White Cheddar contains 50% less.

I really loved these, honestly I probably am going to kill the White Cheddar alone tonight. One thing I had a problem with though was I felt that there was more popcorn than anything. I feel like the in the White Cheddar there wasn't much cheese crackers or pretzels. Also the bag wasn't full all the way and it says it contains 8 containers per bag at 120 calories, so watch out. Best bet is to put a little bit in a bowl then to grab from the bag because all of a sudden that bag is gone and you ate 8 servings.

Overall though I did like them and they're super delicious. Just a little bit goes a long way. Definitely check them out though, you won't be disappointed!

VeeV's VitaFrute Cocktails Review!

No comments:

Hey guys, I'm a girl as you all know and I love trying fruity new drinks like most girls do. So when I got the opportunity to review VeeV's new VitaFrute cocktails thanks to Klout I hopped on the  chance! It is the first line of organic and all-natural ready to drink cocktails and they taste great!

I received a coupon where I could get two bottles at my local store for free, so I picked up their Cosmopolitan and Margarita mixes. They're pretty easy to find, I just went to my local Ralph's and it was in the alcohol aisle by the mixers.

After a long, long Friday my roommate and I decided to try out the Cosmo mix first.

It was pretty good, a little too sweet for my taste though, but I'm not a huge Cosmo fan so that could be why. I had about a glass and a half but then had to stop because of the sweetness. The margarita mix on the other hand...

I had last night for Cinco de Mayo and might have drank the entire bottle by myself. By "might have" I mean I definitely did. Whoops. What can I say? It was that good.

I don't think it was too strong though because I didn't get wasted or anything, I did have it over a few hours time but still.

These drinks though are great for people looking to have fun but watch their calorie intake. At only less than 125 calories a serving it's pretty delicious. One the back it says per 1.5 oz is a typical serving and that is only 55 calories for the Cosmo and I believe 65 for the Margarita which isn't that bad at all.

Both bottles are made with premium and all-natural ingredients for a superior taste and they're 15% alcohol/volume which is a 30 proof.  Just remember it is all-natural you may see pieces of fruit like lemon or lime in the margarita just floating around that is because all-natural products settle, just give it a shake and it'll taste just fine.

I also enjoyed the little facts in the back of each bottle. For instance, Fact #1 says "You know who you are, and your drink of choice must understand you. Vitafrute by VeeV is a delicious and calorie-conscious alternative to your normal everyday cocktail." and Fact #5 says "You're going to love this."

Overall, while I wasn't big on the Cosmopolitan it's mainly because typically I am not a Cosmo kind of girl, I just wanted to try it to try it. I am by definition though a Margarita girl and I did love the Margarita mix. They are great healthy alternatives for when you want to drink but watch your calories, definitely check them out you won't be disappointed.

Bolthouse Farms Review! #foodpornindex

No comments:

Klout is awesome with their perks. Their most recent item they've perk'd me with is Bolthouse Farms.  Bolthouse Farms is a great company that sells a variety of delicious drinks from smoothies to protein beverages to juices they've got it.

I received a coupon to try one out and I've actually been eye'ing the Vanilla Chai Tea for a bit so I grabbed that one immediately. It tasted delicious. It's a great protein drink to have after a workout because it contains 9 grams of protein. It also has 30% calcium, and over 100% in vitamins like Vitamin B6, B12, and Vitamin C (it has 150% of your daily value for C, whaaat?!).  It's also gluten free, lactose free, and contains no preservatives.

Some little negatives is that this is a soy protein so be wary if you're allergic to soy. Also it does have 26g of sugar and it's 180 calories per serving but each bottle is 2 servings. Let's be real at 450 mL you're probably going to drink the whole thing (I did) so that is 360 calories.

I though it was really delicious and, as you can probably tell by the photo I took (it's empty) that I inhaled it. I really enjoy Bolthouse though, they have another chocolate protein one that is just off the walls delicious too that I recommend and probably everything else is awesome too.

The reason Klout and Bolthouse collaborated though is to spread the word about their website FoodPornIndex.com this website keeps track of at least 261.6 million hash tags on twitter and fruit and veggies are getting shafted. There's more food photos of sweets and unhealthy treats for you then the healthy stuff. So in order to switch it around they ask then when you tweet or instagram using the hashtag #foodporn you try to show off your healthy snacks like fruits, veggies, and maybe even a Bolthouse farm smoothie.  Right now it's 31% healthy and 69% unhealthy #foodporn photos and we gotta change that.

Definitely check out Bolthouse and the Food Porn Index!

Buy It! Head on over to Bolthouse Farm's website and see where they sell them near you! I've purchased mine at Target and Ralph's near me.

Lay's Pico de Gallo Chips Review!

1 comment:

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great holiday break, I sure did! But Star Impulse is back with some great reviews for everyone! First up is Lay's Potato Chips and their latest flavor Pico de Gallo! I received this opportunity thanks to Klout!

For those that aren't familiar with Pico de Gallo it's that chunky tomato stuff that has bits of onions and cilantro in it. Usually pico de gallo is also served with your tacos and burritos alongside your salsa and guacamole. It is pretty delicious.

I like when chips come out with odd and fun flavors like pickle and chicken and waffle. Needless to say I was pretty excited to try these, especially because I'm quite a fan of pico de gallo. I have to say though, I was pretty bummed out when I tried them though. They reminded me more of a spicier ketchup chip, only not spicy like hot but spicy like the spices of salt and pepper. It also was missing the key flavor ingredient of pico de gallo: cilantro. I didn't taste any cilantro at all.

Not to say these chips tasted gross or anything because they didn't. They just did not taste like what they claimed to taste like. I guess that is how some flavored chips are though. For instance, the ketchup chip is pretty on the money but the chicken and waffles one is definitely not, so you do have to take that into consideration.

Overall, it boils down to how serious you are about the flavor of these chips. Do you want to taste a chip that tastes just like pico de gallo? I don't recommend these. But are you open to trying unique flavored chips for funsies? Then try them out!

I'm a big fan of Lays though they always keep us on our toes with the latest, coolest chip flavors. While this flavor may not have been a huge hit for me, I will definitely continue to buy them and follow them on their crazy flavor journey.
