YSL Rogue Pur Couture Lipstick Review!

No comments:

Hey everyone, I wouldn't consider myself a girly girl but I do like girly things sometimes. I am a big fan of makeup but I typically don't splurge unless I have to or unless I tried a product that is THAT good and incredibly worth the money. I am a big fan of lipstick but never thought of spending a lot of money on a lipstick until nowwwww. YSL, Yves Saint Laurent is a really great and well known brand. We all are pretty familiar with them, let's be real. Their Rogue Pur Couture lipstick line is so great and I am definitely a fan now. I received this thanks to Influenster!

I received the following shades:
- Rose Stiletto
- Fuchsia

I really loved these shades. The Fuchsia is fancy and bright and perfect for a night on the town. While the Rose Stiletto is a bit more muted and can wear to work or for a casual night out.

I thought these were the perfect opposing colors to be included in the VoxBox because someone will definitely like one of these. I love them both.

 Fuchsia

The packaging is perfect, I love that the cases are really sturdy but still really lovely. They're gold and definitely keep your lipstick safe.

I also think the lipstick smells really nice, I know that's a really awkward compliment but I love it. Also the lipstick itself is very smooth, you don't need to put too much on, only a few swipes and the color is there. They aren't very sticky either or too heavy, you really don't feel like you're wearing much lipstick at all.

Rose Stiletto

Overall, I really enjoyed this lipstick and definitely plan on checking out more of their colors in the future.

Beauty Box Five Review!

No comments:
We all love monthly subscription boxes. They're great and addictive from food to nerdy items to of course the beauty boxes, we just can't get enough. So when I was given the opportunity to review Beauty Box Five I jumped at the chance. Beauty Box 5 is a subscription-based, beauty sampling service that delivers 5 deluxe samples and full-sized products right to your door every month.

The products I received in this Beauty Box 5 are:
BH Cosmetics California Collection Eyeshadow Palette
Jergens Natural Glow - 3 Days to Glow Moisturizer
Bonnie Bell Lip Definier in Apple Cider
Nicka K New York Hydro Lipstick in Begonia
Blum All-Purpose Cleansing Wipes in Citrus Scent

I really liked pretty much everything in this box, they're all really awesome products.

First off, the eyeshadow palette is great, I love BH Cosmetics, their eyeshadows are always awesome and look so well on. I loved that it was the California Collection palette because I live in California. The colors are actually the kind that look okay on the palette but when I was swatching them on my hand I was really impressed with the color payoff.

I really like the San Francisco one because I love gold/bronze shimmery eyeshadows. But the Hollywood one is really pretty too, at first I thought it was a dark purple but it's a really nice purple that you can make it really light or darken it up depending on how much you put on your eye. It's a great outside corner shadow color, you know? I'm not big on the Malibu one but it is nicer than I thought because it has a nice shimmer but it's yellow and I'm not a big yellow person, plus I have blonde hair so I think it kind of clashes. Overall, though this palette is definitely a win.

I really liked the lipstick too, it's a darker red but with a nice shimmer. It's hydrating and paraben free. It's a nice shade to wear out at night or you can even wear it with some jeans to dress up your face a little. It's not sticky or drying on, it feels like chapstickwhich is great because it's super soothing but still looks nice on your lips

The lip definer is cool too but I never really use lip liners and products like this. I'm the type of girl that likes makeup and I'll wear some of it but I'm not going to go all out and wear every little thing from BB Cream to liners. So I always forget about lip liners and definers. It is a great color though and goes great with the lipstick. You can even wear it as a lipstick and put some clear gloss over it for a nice natural look.

The Jergens Natural Glow I haven't tried yet but I'm pretty excited to. I'm going to Vegas this coming weekend and it'll be great to get a nice little glow going on before I go there. You get a natural color just by using this moisturizer which is awesome. It gives you a nice subtle tan without giving you streaks. I've heard people try this and love it so I am excited to give it a shot myself.

Lastly, the all-purpose cleansing wipes look great. I love that it has a little keychain thing so you can attach it to your keys or handbag and bring it with you. I use cleansing wipes to remove my makeup all the time so these are great, too. It's infused with aloe vera, hypoallergenic, paraben-free and not tested on animals. They're mini cleansing wipes too so they're perfect to take with you traveling and the citrus smell is wonderful.

Overall, I really enjoyed this beauty box. I really enjoyed how I know I'll use all but probably one item (the lip definer). They're all really solid products and at $12 a month you really can't go wrong. Take the BH palette, that's typically $18.95 and you're getting that and more for less! Awesome! If you love beauty subscription boxes, definitely sign up for this one!

Advanced Mineral Makeup Review!

No comments:

Makeup can be very overwhelming just because there is SO MUCH of it. From expensive high end to drug store bargains, it is difficult choosing which is perfect for you. This is just face makeup I'm talking about, too, don't even get me started on the billions of eye shadows and lipsticks that exist. But then, once you finish all of that hunting and searching, once you find it, that one makeup, it looks perfect on you, you are all set. One great company to test out and hopefully end the face makeup search is Advanced Mineral Makeup. Advanced Mineral Makeup believes in creating beauty products with all natural formula that works and looks great.

I received their liquid mineral foundry in Creme Brûlée.

The makeup company is created by Annie Mayo who was the makeup artist for shows like "NCIS" and "Grey's Anatomy," to name a few. She wanted to make this makeup available to everyone that wants close-up, camera ready coverage, and that is just what she did.

It is actually called mineral makeup because it is made up of finely ground minerals from the earth. It is 100% vegan and pure with ZERO toxins, chemicals, preservatives, talc, fragrances, parabens, etc. They use ingredients like zinc oxide, grape seed oil, and mica. It also acts as an anti-inflammatory on skin with acne and rosacea and won't clog pores.

I really liked this makeup though it took me a day or so to get used to applying it. I discovered a little goes a long way. It is a bit thinner though than my old makeup because I couldn't rub it in too much or else it would wipe off, so I sometimes had to wait for it to dry a bit. I ended up really enjoying this though because it kind of cleared up my face. My face is prone to breakouts and acne, especially recently, but I noticed since using this makeup my face definitely calmed down. I thought that was pretty amazing and impressive.

Overall, I do recommend this makeup, it makes your face look great and is actually good for your skin, too. Definitely check it out, you won't be disappointed!

Covergirl's Blast Flipstick Review!

No comments:

Hey everyone! My next review is for Covergirl's Blast Flipstick. You may recall that I've reviewed Covergirl before and you can check them out here. I received this opportunity thanks to BzzAgent.

I received three different colors:
Stunner
Minx
Vixen

Let me start off by saying what a crazy variety of colors. From purple to brown to gold, it's crazy the assortment of colors this collection has. I love it, especially that they're dual lipsticks. So when you don't really like one color, it actually can be improved by mixing the two together and look pretty awesome.

These sticks are made with ultra blendable formula and expertly matched shades. It also also lets you create the current "ombre" trend but on your lips.

Each stick contains one creamy side and one shimmery side.

I really liked these for the most part, though I feel like some of the colors I received didn't really work well with my skin tone. The minx is a dark brown and gold, even adding the gold shimmer on top I still looked goth. The Stunner is a bright coral and a pinkish/gold shimmer. I know the coral color alone will look nice on me in the summer but not this time of year. The shimmer I feel makes it worse on me. But I did love the vixen color. It's a nice, almost mauvy pink with a frosty pink shimmer and both complimented me very well, solo and mixed.

While I may not have been a fan of some of the colors I do love this concept. I'm sure the stunner and minx will look good once I get used to mixing the two colors and creating a cool ombre affect on my lips, I'm just not very makeup savvy like that without a little practice.

Overall though I really love this concept, it's a great almost futuristic approach to makeup. And, more importantly, it makes makeup fun again! Definitely check them out and they make great stocking stuffers too!
