Holiday Gift Guide: Loot Crate December Review!

No comments:

Hey guys! Christmas is around the corner, literally less than week away! Did you get all of your gifts yet? If you need a last minute gift idea check out Loot Crate. Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box filled with geek and gamer items. Each month has a theme was Anniversary! It was their anniversary so they celebrated other great anniversaries.

The box contained:
- Captain America Air Freshener
- Dancing Groot Socks
- Tetris Sticker Set
- Ghostbusters Door Hanger
- Simpsons Might Wallet
- The Joker Batman-Batman Pop! Vinyl Figure
- Batman Endgame Comic

Before we get into the EXCELLENCE that is this box. I just wanted to tell you about the anniversaries: Tetris and the Ghostbusters turned 30. The Simpsons turned 25. Marvel and DC Comics turned 75. Dang, time sure flies. I thought this was a great theme and a creative way to incorporate the celebration of Loot Crate's anniversary as well as some other greats.

I loved this Loot Crate, it was definitely one of my favorite recent ones. I made an audible gasp when I saw the Groot socks because they're adorable and I love funny/cute socks! Groot is a great and awesome, too.

The Tetris stickers looked super cool. They're stickers in the shape of Tetris blocks that you can put on anything and shape them into words or objects. I spent the better part of a half an hour doing this to my computer with them:

It says "YOLO" because I'm stupid like that. STUPIDLY AWESOME. It was hard to make them straight though, but I got the hang of it a little bit. The stickers also came with a guide showing you how to make a heart, skull, and letters of the alphabet, so that's how I made that. It was pretty fun to do and there's still a bunch more stickers so I can make more shapes!

The Ghostbusters door hanger was really cool, too. Just looking at it made me want to watch both movies again. The Batman-Joker was really interested, he looks so creepy as a joker! He needs to stick to being Batman, haha. But Batman and Joker are both my favorite superhero and villain. It's a great collectible to have, as well as the Batman comic.

I'm not a huge fan of The Simpsons or Captain America but these make great little stocking stuffers or mini gifts to give friends that do love them.

Overall, I really loved this Loot Crate. It doesn't disappoint. It's a great subscription box to give to your friends or if you subscribe to it you can use some of the items in it to give as gifts to your friends and family, too. Check them out, you'll be as obsessed with Loot Crate as I am!

Holiday Gift Guide: Smart Weight Scale Review!

No comments:

With the new year approaching many people plan to start of fresh, start exercising and eating right. The gym gets busy and your classes get obnoxiously packed. It's annoying for us usual gym-goers but it has to be done. It's everyone's New Years resolutions. I know that's my mom's exact plan. Why not start them off right with a great healthy fitness gift? That's where Smart Weight comes in! Smart Weight has a variety of great scales to keep you on track and staying fit.

I received their Smart Weigh SBS500 Body Fat Digital Precision Scale with Tempered Glass Platform and it is pretty much the coolest scale ever.

It has user recognition where you can put in your height, age, and sex info and it'll save it and update every time you're on it so it can scale your vitals better. I believe it has spots for 6 people. I say vitals because it doesn't just weigh you, oh no...

See those buttons? They light up each time they show you your: Body Fat, Water Weight, Muscle percentage, and bone weight. It also tells you your BMI. Once you save your info and hop onto the scale, barefoot, it weighs you and then shows this information 2-3 times.

It was so easy to set up and awesome to lose. Gadgets like this kind of make you addicted to work out more and more motivated to work out and stay in shape. At least it does for me. I start a competition with myself. "Okay I'm 135.0 today well later today hopefully after the gym I'll lose at least .5lbs." I think to myself.

Overall, I really loved this scale. It's also very lightweight and easy to clean off because of the glass surface. Definitely check out Eat Smart for their wide variety of scales, you won't be disappointed!

Buy It! Head on over to Smart Weight's website and browse their great selection!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Holiday Gift Guide: Loot Crate November Review!

No comments:

Christmas shopping can be difficult but instead of taking the easy way out with gift cards why not give a gift that lasts forever? Or at least...a few months, with subscription boxes! There's so many monthly subscription boxes out there for every type of person, but my personal favorite? Loot Crate! Loot Crate is the monthly subscription box filled with geek and gamer items. Each month has a theme and this month it was Battle!

This box contained:
- Assassin's Creed IV Unity Coin w/ Velvet Pouch
- Mega Man Mini Helmet
- Halo Drop Ship Mini Figure
- Street Fighter Headband

And

- Pirates vs. Ninjas T-Shirt

First of all, I am not 100% sure what I would be a pirate or a ninja. I do love the ninja turtles and the physicality of ninjas but I also do love the personalities and alcohol intake of pirates. I don't know! I just don't know! Okay maybe a pirate. But I'd still kick but!

Great, now that we've got that out of the way let's talk about the booty! (see! pirate!) I thought this theme was clever especially because it also came with cut outs and the box doubled as a battle ground where you and your friend can duke it out with the cutouts. I am not very familiar with the games though. aside from one: Street Fighter. I did like the headband, it's a cool gift even a little stocking stuffer. I may give it to my brother as a little gag gift because he was the one that got me started playing street fighter. During the summer we would go to this pizza parlor and play the game after dinner. Good times, good times. I would always be the girl with the hair buns.

The other items I'm not familiar with but are really cool. The Halo figure can be split apart and sits on a little lego. The MegaMan helmet is pretty solid and makes a great collectible if you're a fan. The coin was pretty cool, too.

Overall, while it wasn't my favorite Loot Crate it still was pretty cool. Another great part about Loot Crate is since that it deals with so many fandoms with games and shows while you may not know them all you sure will have a friend that is into one of the items.

Once again, Loot Crate doesn't disappoint! Check them out for your geeky/nerdy or just regular friend they'll love it and won't be disappointed!

Holiday Gift Guide: Villa Cappelli Review!

1 comment:

With the holidays just around the corner that doesn't just mean gifts but food, too. That's where Villa Cappelli comes in. Villa Cappelli is a great company that has a variety of antipasti, olive oils, and more. Whether you want some for yourself or to give as a lovely gift basket for the holidays they have you covered.

I received:
- Spaghettata
- Spicy Italian Sun-Dried Tomato Spread
- Italian Sun-Dried Tomato Spread
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Spaghettata is really cool, basically you can create the best pasta in 10 minutes just by adding 1 tablespoon of Spaghettata in a 1/2 cup of extra virgin olive oil to your pasta. It's made of simple ingredients: garlic, crushed red pepper, parsley, and salt but makes the pasta taste outstanding. Also, super easy option for people like me that are too lazy to make a sauce and/or forget to buy sauce but have tons of pasta.

Where do I get the olive oil from? That's where the Extra Virgin Olive Oil comes in. You know it's legit by the papyrus covering it. Fun fact, I got really excited because I thought it was a bottle of Chianti but alas, just oil. Still cool though! And very useful. Unlike with many "extra virgin olive oils" you find in the states, you can be sure Villa Cappelli is 100% extra virgin olive oil, cold pressed and unfiltered with nothing but freshly crushed olives as an ingredient. It went great with my salads (I'm a classic vinegar and oil dressing girl) and with the Spaghettata.

My two favorites though were the spreads. The Spicy Italian and regular Sun-Dried Tomato Spread.

You can use it on bread, bread sticks, crackers, maybe add some water to liquify it and make it a sauce. Boom, deliciousness! I actually was a big fan of the spicy one because it had a little kick to it. Both contained tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil, garlic, vinegar, mint, and salt but the spicy one also had paprika and chili pepper. That's all the ingredients contained, no artificial flavors or gross bonuses, just pure, basic, deliciousness.

I loved these items just because they're made with ingredients I know, love, and can pronounce but they're still SO GOOD. They have a variety of other great items, too, like conserves (plum conserve, yum!), pasta, and ready made gift baskets. Definitely check them out! You won't be disappointed.

Buy It! Head on over to Villa Cappelli's website and browse their great selection, you won't be disappointed!

Holiday Gift Guide 2014: Old Factory Candles Review and Giveaway!

No comments:

One of my favorite seasonal items are candles. I'm a big fan of fall, but winter and Christmastime also has a great variety of candle scents, too. They also make the perfect gifts, especially when they come in gift sets like Old Candle Factory

Old Candle Factory has a variety of three-candle gift sets and I chose their "Happy Holidays" theme.

The Happy Holidays set includes three 2 oz candles of the following:
Candy Cane
Gingerbread
Christmas Tree

I really enjoyed these candles, they smelled so great. The Christmas Tree was a refreshing evergreen scent, the candy cane peppermint, and gingerbread smelled just like gingerbread.

These are natural soy candles, hand poured in the USA. They contain natural soy wax, cotton paper wicks, and pure fragrance oils. They guarantee that the candle will burn clean, even, and true-to-scent for 20 hours.

I also liked the packaging. Each little cubby where the candle was sitting had a nice little saying like this:

I really enjoyed these candles, they really make a room smell super festive. They also make perfect little gift sets for friends and family members. Be sure to buy them on Amazon, too because they send them in perfect gift boxes like this:

Overall, these candles did not disappoint they're pretty lovely. Definitely check them out, you won't be disappointed!

Buy It! Head on over to Amazon and buy a gift set for yourself or for a gift!

Holiday Gift Guide 2014: SOL Republic RELAYS In-Ear Headphones Review and Giveaway!

23 comments:

To start off the 2014 Holiday Gift Guide I'm very excited to share with you an excellent item that makes a great gift that practically everyone uses: headphones!

I recently got a job where I'm basically wearing headphones for eight hours a day. So I was very excited when I heard that SOL Republic released a new line of in-ear headphones. You may remember I reviewed their previous headphones and earbuds, you can check them out here.

Their latest are the RELAYS which are perfect for the on the go active life. Whether you're using them to go for a run or during work, these guys have you covered. With the in-ear headphones they send four different size cushions to stick in your ear and you base it on your comfort. I like the 2nd largest ones for office work and workouts. But they give you a variety so you find the perfect fit because they are designed to not fall out no matter what you put them through.

With the holidays right around the corner, it sometimes can be difficult finding a gift and these make perfect ones because they're high quality and great for everyone of all ages!

Some great benefits: they are sweat and water resistant, have a one year warranty, and lightweight. They also have volume controls on them and are compatible with apple and other devices.

I really enjoyed these. Just a few months ago I had a slew of headphones and then, all of a sudden, they all just disappeared, so these guys came at the perfect time. They are really comfortable, they don't bug you after you wear them for a while (trust me, I wear them at least six-eight hours a day). They don't fall out, either.

It comes with some other bonuses, too. First off the little bag carrying case, as you see above. It's perfect because usually I toss my headphones in my purse and they get lost of fall to the deepest depths of my purse and take forever to find. This guy makes them super easy and me a little more organized. The headphones themselves also have a little clip so it makes it easy for them to not get too tangled. Clip it onto your shirt to keep the wire straight. Or, if you only use one headphone because you're at work, clip the other one there so it doesn't fall to the floor or get messed up. Overall, these are awesome.

Once again SOL republic doesn't disappoint. These make perfect gifts for your friend that's a music fiend or for your daughter's stocking stuffer, either one would be sure to love these guys. Plus, they're probably going to last them a long, long time.

Buy It! Head on over to SOL Republic's website and check them out, they are also at a bunch of retailers including RadioShack!

Win It! ONE winner will win a pair for themselves!
