Loot Crate Power May Review!

No comments:

It's that time of the month again! One of my favorite times of the month! Loot Crate time! Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box that has everything geeky and gamey, this month's theme is "Power."

This crate included:
- Warcraft T-Shirt
- Dragon Ball Z Shenron Plush Keychain
- Infinity Gauntlet Oven Mitt
- Hulk Q-Fig
- Loot Crate Pin

I like being honest with you guys and I think you appreciate my honesty too, so I'm just going to tell it like it is. I was not a huge fan of this crate. I don't really know any of these fandoms at all. Not really into video games. The one thing I thought was cool was the Hulk because he's someone that I like but I'm not a huge fan of. (I've only seen the terrible Eric Bana Hulk movie)

But that's what is so great about these crates, sure I may not be a fan of these items but I have friends that are all about superheroes and video game fandoms. I plan on giving them just as little gifts. I honestly like to bring them to open mics and just ask all my friends there and there's usually someone that's super stoked about them.

Overall, Loot Crate is awesome, I love it because there's something for everyone. Even though I wasn't super into this crate I know next crate I'm going to be jazzed about something. Definitely check it out you won't be disappointed!

Loot Crate April Quest Review!

No comments:

It's that time of the month again! One of my favorite times of the month! Loot Crate time! Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box that has everything geeky and gamey, this month's theme is "Quest."

This crate included:
- Vikings Drinking Horn with Strap
- Harry Potter Socks
- D20 Ice Mold
- Uncharted 4: Thief's End Poster
- Loot Pin
- Labyrinth Shirt

This was a really fun crate, though, I must say when I heard the theme was "quest" I was hoping for some Lord of the Rings swag. I mean when you think of quest how do you not think of the one ring quest, you know what I mean? Still this box was great. I was super excited for the Labyrinth shirt and am currently wearing it right now. It's one of those movies you love but sometimes forget about. I also love the colors, too.

The Harry Potter socks are also awesome, they're all the Horcruxes which I think is cool because the later books they did go on quests to find them and destroy them. Also, I love fun socks, they're one of my favorite things so I will wear all of the funky socks in the world.

The Viking drinking horn I was confused with at first because when you first see it you're like "okay...a viking horn" but then you realize it's a CUP and that makes it pretty awesome. I actually want to give it to my dad because he loved the football team the Vikings so he will probably get a kick out of it.

As for the poster and the dice mold, they were my least favorite. I'm not familiar with the poster and don't really have a 20 sided-dice, I'm not a gamer, but still they're pretty cool.

Overall though, it was definitely a pretty solid crate, something for everyone. Either way, Loot Crate definitely doesn't disappoint.

Loot Crate March Versus Review!

No comments:

It's that time of the month again! One of my favorite times of the month! Loot Crate time! Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box that has everything geeky and gamey, this month's theme is "Versus."

This crate included:
- Mirror, Mirror Star Trek T-Shirt
- Daredevil/Punisher Beanie
- Batman V Superman Mighty Walley
- Alien Vs. Predator Vinyl Figure
- Harley Quinn Comic Book

I really liked the theme of this box. Super clever and super topical what with the Batman v Superman movie coming out. I'm not super thrilled with the movie because I love Batman but very much dislike Ben Affleck but...I'll probably see it. The wallet is pretty cool, I've seen billboards and posters with the similar pictures. Also a good little wallet to take with you when you don't want to lug your big one around.

I don't watch Daredevil but I know a bunch of people that do so when I saw this beanie I thought it looked really cool but also makes a really great little gift to surprise someone. I felt that with a lot of the items in this crate. That is what is great about Loot Crate, if you're not into one particular fandom you have a friend that is. I love giving gifts to friends even just little things.

The AVP figure was cool except it was Predator and I'm definitely team Alien, haha. Still it looks pretty cool. I've also never seen Star Wars so the Spock shirt was really cool but not my type but my roommate's family are big Star Trek people so she's going to give it to her sister.

Overall, while the fandoms in this crate weren't really my faves they were awesome ones that a lot of people I like are into so everyone wins! Loot Crate never disappoints check it out!

Loot Crate January Invasion Review!

No comments:

It's that time of the month -- Loot Crate time! Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box dedicated to all things geeky and gamey. This month's theme is Invasion!

 This crate contained:
- Alien Facehugger Plush
- Alien Invaders Vinyl Figure
- "War of the Worlds" and "Day The Earth Stool Still" Mini Art Prints
- X-Files LED Flashlight
- X-Files The Day Has Come T-Shirt

I really enjoyed this crate. I like how it came out around the same time was the X-Files 6 episode event on FOX. I'm not even a huge fan of the X-Files -- I haven't seen every episode -- but I do enjoy them. I've seen a few standalone ones that are pretty good. The X-Files flashlight that Loot Crate added is very on brand for the show but also very practical so that people that aren't fans of the show can still use it.

The X-Files shirt is also really cool and subtle. Sure, the two people are definitely Mulder and Scully but to a fan of just aliens and the paranormal hey this could just be two people with aliens on it and they could rock the shirt too.

The Space Invaders vinyl figure is really cool especially for all you people with hardcore nostalgia. It's just a good little collectible. Just like the Fifth Element multi-pass. Except with the multi-pass you can wear it like a necklace or something, it's pretty cool. I haven't watched that movie in so long and now just seeing that multi-pass just makes me want to watch that movie all over again.

The prints are really cool, too. I'm more partial to the War of the Worlds one because I actually have the vinyl of the original Orson Welles recording. I actually haven't seen/read The Day The Earth Stood Still, I will one day because the print looks cool and I've heard about it. I definitely plan on hanging up the War of the Worlds one somewhere cool.

My favorite item though is the Alien Facehugger plush. I love how cute it looks because we all know how creepy and awful they are in the movie. My roommate is actually a big Alien fan and I plan on giving it to her though, I feel like she'll appreciate it more and also...she lives with me so I'll still get to see it. Win win.

Overall, this was a great crate -- one of my favorites in recent memory. Loot Crate never disappoints. They make the perfect gifts for anyone or sign up yourself and give the items away as gifts or keep for yourself!

Holiday Gift Guide: Loot Crate Galaxy Review!

No comments:

That time of the month again a very special time of the month. Loot Crate TIME! Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box dedicated to all things geeky and gamey. But this time this month's theme is GALAXY.

The Crate contained:
- Exclusive Star Wars Han Solo Vinyl Bobble Head
- Exclusive Galaxy Quest Authentic Prop Replica Patch
- Exclusive Star Wars BB-8 Socks
- Exclusive Halo 5 Ammo Tin Box
- Exclusive Ugly Holiday Sweater T-shirt

I LOVED this crate. I enjoyed how it came out the same time the new Star Wars film came out and I received it like within days of the release of the film. I haven't seen it yet because I've been so busy but I am DYINGGG to. I heard it is very good. My roommate is a die-hard Star Wars fan and I think I'm going to give the Han Solo bobble head to her. He was my first love (along with Macaulay Culkin) but this is older Han and she's a bigger fan so yeah. Keeping those socks though for sure, I am a sock lady.

Needless to say those two were my two favorite items and I loved the crate specifically for those items alone. I did watch Galaxy Quest a few years ago and enjoyed it so I liked the patch. Great to add onto jackets or bags.

I'm familiar with the video game Halo but have never played the game but I know a few people that do so I'll probably hand this baby over to them. I did like the shirt and usually t-shirts are way better in California then sweaters but it's been so cold here I wish it was a sweater, haha. No but the idea is really clever, perfect for all of those ugly Christmas sweater parties too!

Overall, I really enjoyed this crate primarily because of the two Star Wars items. But I did like the variety of the other items -- how there was a t-shirt, a tin, etc. Loot Crate never disappoints. They make the perfect gifts for anyone or sign up yourself and give the items away as gifts or keep for yourself! Win win situation.

Holiday Gift Guide: Loot Crate "Combat" November Review!

No comments:

That time of the month again a very special time of the month. Loot Crate TIME! Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box dedicated to all things geeky and gamey. But this time this month's theme is COMBAT.

This crate contained:
- Exclusive Cute but Deadly Magnet Set
- Exclusive Fallout 4 Vault Boy Bobblehead
- Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2 Pin
- Exclusive Street Fighter Comic Book
- Cute But Deadly Vinyl Figures

And...last but certainly not least...

- TMNT Shredder Sunglasses

I liked this crate but ESPECIALLY the Shredder sunglasses. Now I can do my Shredder impersonation all of the time ("Babies! They're Babies!" - Shredder in TMNT 2: Secret of the Ooze). I plan on driving around town rocking these bad boys just to see if anyone thinks I'm crazy -- crazy awesome!

The rest of the Loot Crate was cool too. I have been hearing a lot of hubbub around Fallout 4 so while I am not a fan I know a few people that are and this will make a perfect little gift to give one of them. I'm not familiar with the Cute but Deadly guys either but they're pretty cute and make great little decor items to your fridge with the magnet and the figurine is great on your desk. The Hunger Games pin is great, I love The Hunger Games and will proudly wear it on a jacket or bag. I'm sad it's going to end soon.

Overall, I really enjoyed this crate. Loot Crate is great and makes an excellent gift -- whether you give someone a subscription or you subscribe yourself and end up giving some of the items away as little stocking stuffers or gifts -- it is pretty perfect. Definitely check it out you won't be disappointed!

Loot Crate October Time Review!

No comments:

That time of the month again a very special TIME of the month. Loot Crate TIME! Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box dedicated to all things geeky and gamey. But this time this month's theme is actually TIME! I loved this crate and it is definitely one of my favorites in a while.

This crate was smaller in amount of stuff wise but because the products in this crate were huge and awesome. It's so funny how some of the best fandoms revolve around time and EXTREMELY funny that I received this ONE day before Back to the Future Part 2 day. What an awesome coincidence.

The Crate consisted of:
- Exclusive Back to the Future Dr. Emmett Brown Vinyl Figure
- Exclusive Back to the Future Part II Hoverboard Replica
- Exclusive Doctor Who Spork Utensil

And, the item I was most excited for...

- Exclusive Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure T-Shirt "Be Excellent To Each Other"

I am not lying when I say I put this shirt not the day I received it to wear it the whole day. Nobody complimented me because PEOPLE ARE CRAZY. But I loved it so, so much. I personally think Keanu Reeve's career peeked at Bill and Ted and may be one of the few that think that, but still. I LOVED Bogus Journey too.

I'm a big Back to the Future fan too, just re-watched the series a few months ago. And I thought Doc Brown and the Hoverboard were so cute. I have a friend though who is a DIE HARD BTTF fan. She has like Marty Jr.'s entire outfit from the sequel -- jacket, shoes, EVERYTHING -- so I may actually end up giving these guys to her. Not because I don't love them -- because I do! -- but I know she'll love them more if that makes sense. I also just love surprising my friends with little gifts like this.

The Doctor Who spork was the only thing I didn't really understand but fortunately my roommate is a huge Whovian so she enjoys this.

Overall, this crate was amazing, I loved it so much. Even the booklet had an "Outtatime" license plate poster and a Doctor Who -- which doctor poster on the other side. I definitely plan on hanging the license plate up in my room. Once again Loot Crate doesn't disappoint! Definitely check out Loot Crate, you won't be disappointed!

Loot Crate September Summon Review!

No comments:

It's that time of the month! Loot Crate time! Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box dedicated to all things geeky and gamey. This month's theme is "Summon."

This crate consisted of:
- Exclusive Supernatural 1967 Chevy Impala
- Homer Simpson Golden Buddah
- Hearthstone Foam Stress Ball
- Hearthstone collectible coin and card pack

A Pikachu hat!

This was a cool crate. I thought the Pikachu hat was really adorable. I loved Pokemon when I was little and Pikachu was one of my favorites. Though I live in southern California so it really doesn't get too cold enough to wear hats like this but I will bring it back to NJ and maybe a rock it a few days during Christmastime.

The other items are really cool but I'm not super into those fandoms. My roommate though is a huge Simpson and Supernatural fan so she'll dig those. The Supernatural car is a cool little replica. The Homer Simpson Golden Buddha is another cool little figure that you can display or just collect somewhere.

I'm not entirely sure what Hearthstone is, I'm guessing it's a game. I do like the stress ball though just because I like keeping stress balls around the house.

Overall, it was an interesting crate. It had a great variety of items for everyone. Definitely check out Loot Crate, you won't be disappointed!

Loot Crate "Villains 2" August Review!

No comments:

Hey everyone, it's Loot Crate time! Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box dedicated to all things geeky and gamey. This month's theme is "Villains 2."

This crate included:
- The Joker Wooden Figure
- Carnage 3D Mug
- Captain America Hydra Pin
- Los Pollos Hermanos apron

This was a really cool crate but also I'm not super into the fandoms. Though, this is an example of even though I'm not into the fandoms so much I still love the products. For instance, the apron I had no idea was a "Breaking Bad" reference but it's still a pretty cool apron and you always need an apron in the kitchen for baking and stuff.

The Carnage mug is insanely cool. I'm a fan of the Spider-Man movies but not a die hard or anything so I'm not familiar with Carnage, but it is still big and a really great collector piece. Similar to the Joker wooden figure, I love Joker and this is a really unique and awesome item.

Another fandom I'm not familiar too well is Captain America but I'm guessing Hydra are the bad guys. I think the pin is really cool and perfect for fans.

This crate is the perfect crate filled with items to give your friends, you know? Like I know a few Breaking Bad fans, a few Spider-Man fans, etc. So I definitely plan on giving these as gifts. That's what is great about these subscription boxes you can use them for yourself but also for early Christmas or birthday gifts for friends and family. Though I am not a huge fan of these items I am still really excited to give these to people that I know will LOVE the items.

Overall, this Loot Crate was awesome, one of my favorites in a while, definitely check out the subscription, you won't be disappointed!

Loot Crate July Heroes 2 Review!

No comments:

Loot Crate is back this month! Loot Crate is pretty much one of my favorite, if not my favorite subscription box that I receive every month. Loot Crate has everything geeky and awesome. This month's theme is "Heroes 2."

This crate consisted of:
- Legend of Zelda Sweatband
- Wonder Woman Poster
- Batman Multi-Tool Keychain
- Star Trek Airfreshener
- TV Series Batman Q-Pop Figure
- The League of Regrettable Superheroes Book

I was a big fan of this crate it had such an awesome variety. I'm not a big superhero fan but the ones I am fans of I am HUGE fans. The main superhero though that I'm a fan of is Batman so, as you can tell, this crate was bomb.

My favorite thing was the Batman multi-tool keychain. This keychain is not only a bottle opener but also a flathead screwdriver and crosshead screwdriver. It also fits perfectly on your keychain with your house keys or whatever and, for a girl, seems like a really great think to hold in your hands to protect yourself when you're walking down a dark street at night.

I loved the little Q-Pop figure because I was a huge 60's Batman fan growing up. I don't plan on taking this little guy out of the box though, just want to keep it and cherish it forever. It does have a little sign it can hold that says "Ka-Pow!" though which is really cool.

I'm not a huge Wonder Woman fan but as a girl you have to at least like her a little even if you're somewhat unfamiliar with her. I love how they molded her into a Rosie the Riveter for heroes. I definitely plan on hanging this up in my room. I wasn't very excited about Batman vs Superman but now I am just to see my homegirl Wonder Woman.

Not a huge fan of Zelda, but have a few friends that are so I definitely plan on giving this wristband as a little gift to someone. Same with the Star Trek air freshener (I'm Team Star Wars).

Lastly, the book is very, very cool even for a non-comic fan. It tells of a bunch of comic book superheroes that you've probably never met because their "lives" didn't live very long. The strangest superheroes are included in here like Lady Satan and Bee Man. I definitely plan on reading this but I also plan on giving it to my Uncle when I'm done because he is OBSESSED with comics and would get a real kick out of this.

Overall, this Loot Crate was awesome, one of my favorites in a while, definitely check out the subscription, you won't be disappointed!

Loot Crate's June "Cyber" Review!

No comments:

It's that time of the month again, Loot Crate time! Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box dedicated to all things geeky and gamey. This month's theme was "Cyber."

This crate consisted of:
Glow-in-the-dark Circuit Gadget Pouch
Terminator Genisys Brain Chip Keychain
Terminator Genisys Endo Skull Replica
Borderlands Zer0 Game Mat
Future Replicant Corporate Logo Patch
Nerd HQ Sticker Sheet
Battlestar Galactica Cylon Target Poster
And...

A Prime t-shirt

This was a really interesting crate. I liked that it incorporated the new Terminator movie coming out, that kind of made it super awesome and current. Unfortunately though, most of the fandoms in this crate I'm not big on. I do like the old Terminator movies, specifically the 2nd like mostly everyone, but kinda feel like they're killing the franchise by trying to reboot it over and over again. I don't really plan on seeing the new movie until maybe it's out on DVD or Netflix.

I'm also not a big Transformers fan, I did like how it was like a Tron-themed Prime shirt but also...not into Tron. I feel like I do know a few friends who like both so I think this shirt would make a great gift.

The Battlestar Galactica poster I thought was cool, but also never watched the show. Kind of wish they had a little fake gun to go with the target poster so you could use it more.

I did like the gadget pouch because it's great to put some small toiletries in when traveling or pencils if you're in school, still.

I don't play any computer games so I wasn't really familiar with the game mat or the game on the mat. I also wasn't sure what the patch was from and when my roommate google'd it she said there was a reddit thing asking what it was because not many people knew what it's from.

Overall, while this wasn't my favorite Loot Crate it just shows you know you can't win them all. I can't remember the last Loot Crate I wasn't a huge fan of, so that says something, usually they're on the top of their game. I'm not saying they've lost their game with this one it just shows that there's so many different fandoms and they have to make everyone happy and into the crate. I'm sure a billion other people love it way more than me. Definitely check them out you won't be disappointed!

Loot Crate May "United" Review!

No comments:

Hey everyone! Hope you're having an excellent Memorial Day weekend, can you believe May is almost over? Crazy how this year is flying by. With the end of the month heading our way that can only mean it is Loot Crate time! Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box dedicated to all things geeky and gamey. This month's theme was "Unite."

This crate contained:
- Bravest Warriors Comic
- Avengers: Age of Ultron Decal
- Team Fortress 2 Button Set
- Marvel Super Heroes Ice Tray
- Rick and Morty Puzzle
- MAD Magazine
- Marvel Sneaker Laces

Andddd....

- Exclusive Green Ranger Tee

I really liked the variety in this crate. It revolved around teams and duo's whether it is from comics, television shows, or blockbuster movies.

I'm not super familiar with Bravest Warrior, Team Fortress 2, or Rick and Morty but I did love the variety of products, especially the Rick and Morty puzzle. I have been hearing a lot about that show recently and have to check it out.

The t-shirt is pretty cool, I was all about the Power Rangers when I was younger but I was a red ranger fan for life. Jason forever! So when Tommy, the green ranger, came and stole his thunder I was not a fan. So Tommy is my least favorite Power Ranger, never forget you know man?

I really thought the MAD magazine was cool and fun, I didn't know they still made them, it's super funny. The Avengers stuff is really cool, too. I haven't seen the new film yet but I know a lot of people that are huge fans. I plan on giving the decal to my Uncle because he is a diehard super hero fan. I think the Marvel ice cubes are super cool and something I never thought of before. They're really fun for parties or just for yourself. The laces are great, too because they're black and grey so they don't stand out too much but still look awesome.

Overall, I really enjoyed this Loot Crate, once again it doesn't disappoint. Definitely check them out you won't be disappointed!

Fantasy Loot Crate April 2015 Review!

1 comment:

It's one of my favorite times of the month again! Loot Crate time! Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box dedicated to all things geeky and gamey. This month's theme was "Fantasy." Honestly, I am kind of surprised that this theme hasn't been done before with them but hey I was sure happy that I received the crate that was themed this!

This crate contained:
- Harry Potter 9 3/4 Luggage Tag
- RPG Bow Tie
- Dungeons and Dragons T-Shirt
- The Princess Bride Playing Cards
- Game of Thrones Flash Drive
- Game of Thrones Magnet

And...last but not least...

An awesome blow-up crown!

This crate was a lot of fun. I have to be honest, I've never watched "Game of Thrones" and probably will never but, fortunately, my roommate is a big fan. So I gave her the magnets and now they're on our fridge. As for the flash drive though, I kept that because it is awesome. It's in the shape of a "Stark Sigil" which kind of looks like a wolf with feathers. It holds 4GB of memory too and just looks really cool. I never pass up the chance to keep a fun flash drive even if I'm not big into the fandom.

The Princess Bride cards are really fun. You can never go wrong with a deck of cards. It just kind of made me want to re-watch the movie since I haven't seen it in so long. Adding that to my to-do list.

The bow tie was my last favorite item just because I'm not sure I know of anyone that wears bow ties and would be into it. It's RPG themed so it looks like it has dice and dragons on it.

I was all about the Harry Potter luggage tag. I travel a lot so I'm definitely adding it onto my big bag. Also I love any and everything Harry Potter, so hey Loot Crate, just keep making Harry Potter stuff and I'll keep loving you even more than I already do. I still am bummed that I lost my Hogwarts letter in the mail when I was 11.

The t-shirt is pretty cool. I'm not into Dungeons and Dragons at all and my roommate and I were at first confused as to what the shirt was. Once we read it in the little booklet that it was Dungeons and Dragons it made sense. It's a really cool logo. I don't know anyone that's a girl (because it's a girl's tee) that's into that fandom so I plan on using it as a workout shirt or bedtime shirt. It's pretty cool and looks awesome.

Lastly, the crown. Definitely one of the coolest and most unique items I have ever gotten in a Loot Crate box. I love it so much. It's now a top our television so we can wear it whenever. It only took like two big puffs to blow up too and so far, it's been a week, and the air is still in it. It's a bit tight on my fat head but you can release some air to make it easier to fit. It's so cool.

Overall, I really enjoyed this theme. Loot Crate never disappoints. Definitely check them out!

Loot Crate March 2015 Review!

No comments:

This month's Loot Crate is pretty awesome. I feel like I say that for everyone but this one was just super clever and a fandom I haven't seen them really highlight. The theme is "Covert." The crate is filled with a bunch of spy-themed or undercover related fandoms. It was insanely cool. Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box dedicated to all things geeky and gamey.

The crate consisted of:
- An Exclusive Orphan Black Comic Book
- Special Agent Dossier Notebook - 2 Pack
- Replica Agents of Shield Lanyard
- Field Agent Blinky Time Wrist Watch
- Spy Mad Libs
- Paracord Survival Bracelet

And...
- Bond: This is Stirred T-shirt

I loved the variety in this box. Sure it had some Bond stuff because that's the first dude you think of when you think of spy but also other clever spies like Orphan Black. I am a huge Orphan Black fan, it's one of my favorite shows. I haven't read the comic book yet but definitely plan on it. I also like that they released this only a month or so before the release of the new Orphan Black season.

My other favorite item was the watch. I guess I am in the minority when I say I still wear watches. I also like digital ones, too. This one is great because it's blank but when you touch it the time pops up. Super cool. I'm a big fan, it's a little big for my wrist though which is a little bummer but I still can rock it.

The field notes are great, they're both just small and handy notebooks. I always keep a notebook with me in my purse and these are the perfect size so they won't weigh down my bag but also not too small where they'll get lost.

The Mad Libs are super fun too. I don't remember the last time I played Mad Libs. My friend and I decided to bust it out though with this Loot Crate and it was really fun. Mad Libs is one of those games that never gets old no matter how old you get. Adding silly words to sentences just is always a win.

I've never seen the Agents of Shield but it's cool that they had this lanyard. I know a few friends that like the show and I plan on giving it to one of them. Also, fun fact, I have never seen a Bond movie but I did get the joke because it's just something you know he always says "Shaken -- not stirred." I plan on giving this shirt to one of my friends, too.

Overall though this box killed, definitely plan on cracking into the comic book tonight. Definitely check out Loot Crate, with the great variety in each crate, you won't be disappointed!

Loot Crate February 2015 Review!

No comments:

Hey everyone, I'm a little late to the game but this past month's Loot Crate was pretty awesome. I mean, I'm only like 3 days late so it's not too bad. Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box dedicated to all things geeky and gamey. February's theme ways Play!

The items in the crate are:
- DIY Munny figure
- Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
- Superfight's Loot Crate Deck card game
- Rock - Paper - Scissors dice game
- Hexbug
- Waka-Waka (Pac man) Poster

I really enjoyed this crate, it had a variety of everything and just like a bunch of fun items.

First off, reading! Reading can be super fun especially with Ready Player One. I actually have this book (now I have 2) and I really enjoyed reading it. It takes place in the dystopian future where we do everything via computers, or, as they call it, the Oasis. The creator of the Oasis allegedly has some buried treasure hidden in the system. Some people believe it is a myth and some people feel it actually exists. Without giving much else away, we follow the lead character on the hunt for this treasure. Fun fact, it is going to be made into a movie, and I'm looking forward to that.

Next up, the Munny, this looks really awesome and a really fun type of gift to give your artsy friend if you yourself isn't the best artist (aka me). This is my plan. Don't get me wrong, this looks awesome, but I'm a weird perfectionist and will feel like if I draw anything on it I'll mess it up. So yeah, it'll be a fun gift for my friend.

I really enjoyed the Pac Man poster just because who doesn't enjoy that game? Speaking of games, the Superfight card game is awesome. I haven't played it yet but it looks like a blast. Player one takes one white card (characters) and one black card (attributes) and Player two does the same. Each player grabs another black card to add it to their fighter. Then each player pleads it's case as to why their choice would win in the fight and the table votes. The blue and purple cards are scenarios you can draw one, both or none during a fight. Seems like a pretty fun group game.

They also put in the rock-paper-scissors dice game which is basically the hand game but in dice form. You can carry them around in this cool bag, too.

Lastly, the Hexbug I feel was the only non-game related item but I mean you do play with it so that's probably why they tossed it in. You can make it walk across the floor and roll over to freak out your friends or roommates. It works better on hard floors, it kind of got stuck in the carpet. Also, you have to put it on it's back for it to flip right-side up. It is a pretty awesome and fun little gadget I can definitely see myself having fun with.

Loot Crate January 2015 Review!

No comments:

It's already 2015, man how does the time fly? I don't know. Apparently, Loot Crate doesn't either because this month their theme is "Rewind." It's a look back at geek and gaming past, the perfect theme for this time of year when you're blindsided by a new year and everything changing. Let's get into it!

This box includes:
- A Retro Arcade Skinny Tie
- a 10-Doh! Figure of a Korben's Alley Nintendo Game
- Exclusive Star Wars Comic Book Issue 001
- Comic Notebook
- Exclusive 8-Bit Glasses

And....

- Exclusive Voltron Blueprint T-shirt

I thought that this was such an awesome box because it was full of a little bit of everything. The tie was so cool and something I have never seen before in the box. In the pamphlet it shows men and women wearing it, though I'm not sure I can rock it, I may give it to my guy friend.

I loved the comic book because I do like Star Wars but I looove me some Han Solo. I'm not a huge comic reader, but I do plan on diving into this one. And saving it. Forever. Because that's what you do with comics right?

I liked the comic notebook, too. In it, it had spaces in the shape of comic book squares and such where you write all your notes. I liked the size because it was so small that it fits in any bag. It's perfect because I always think of funny jokes or ideas when I have no paper, so then I use my phone but then I forget about all the notes on my phone.

The figure was really cute, I used to play Nintendo a lot when I was really young with my older brother but I don't remember this game, and I tried to google it but got nothing. Not sure if it's supposed to be a fake game but just for fans of Nintendo games alone or what. Still it's pretty cute, a nice office desk item.

I really liked the Voltron shirt because I was obsessed with my older brother's Voltron (pattern here, huh?) and my mom gave it to me but ended up hiding it and saving it because she figured it'd be worth something. I actually wore this shirt to a Spartan race on Saturday and got a load of compliments on it but also a lot of "Is that a Transformers shirt?" Oye. No, friends, way cooler than Transformers. I saw a guy actually wearing the 8-Bit Sunglasses there, too and he said "I see you got your crate, too." Pretty funny. The glasses are cool too, I feel like they'd be fun to wear around in the car and see if anyone notices your awesomely unique shades.

Overall, this was a pretty fun Loot Crate. Once again, they don't disappoint. Definitely check them out, you won't be disappointed!
